THE DOMAINE’S HISTORY

The Domaine d’Orgival’s history is a family saga.

After all the area had been bombed, the Lemoine family, who own the site, decided to rebuild the whole farm estate on the heights of Trosly-Loire, at the end of the First World War. The extraction of stones from the neighbouring quarry enabled the Domaine, but also part of the village, to rise again.

The Domaine d’Orgival and charming village of Trosly-Loire in the Aisne department (Picardy) was recovering from the war in 1924.

Pierre Lemoine’s initial ambition was to provide his family and friends with a convivial and warm location. The estate found a new role by opening its doors to the public for private and professional receptions in 1990, under the impetus of his grandsons Bruno and Thierry.

Today, Gwennaëlle, Pierre Lemoine’s great-granddaughter, continues to welcome you in this exceptional place.
